Geoffrey
Simmons is (by day) an employee of
Rocky Mountain SER, in which he
instructs GED students in math and algebra, as well as Life and Job
Skills workshops. He also co-facilitates a youth-employment project,
develops resumes, and produces a number of newsletters for various
agencies around Southern Colorado. By night, Geoffrey is
president of the board of directors for
Southern Colorado Theatre Company,
one of many performing arts organizations in Colorado. He is an
accomplished actor, producer, director, designer and technician,
having worked on over 200 different productions over the last 22
years. He also manages to find time (somehow) for his other
passions: digital imaging, graphic design, and music (specifically
ethnic percussion and synthesizer programming). He is currently
writing the score for the next SCTC production, Alabama Rain,
which will include Geoffrey’s further experimentations with acoustic
guitar.

Simon the Prog Cat is a Birman/Himalayan (I think) mix that has
been raised by Geoffrey since he was 3 weeks old. Simon has always
been fascinated by things that make noise, and can often be found
triggering random drum samples or by producing his own sounds (purrcussion)
which Geoffrey then loops and treats with various audio effects.
Simon is also adept at knocking live microphones off shelves, which
Geoffrey then turns into original percussive sounds. Simon is
currently learning basic rhythm patterns on the bongos (with a
little help from a laser pointer). |
